Enjoyed day 1 of the Connecticut Hedge Fund Association Global Alpha conference. In partnership with Matthias Knab at Opalesque, the team put together an excellent program. I most enjoyed the speeches by Rudy Giuliani in the morning compared to Larry Summers at lunch. Interesting to watch the party of free markets attempt to explain why financial institutions in his city were imploding…hard to make the “regulation stifling industry” argument which I thought was the reason for why the US was falling behind.
On Monday I attended the II Private Wealth Summit. I enjoy this event as the conference producer always have insightful, thought-provoking speakers – big ideas instead of panels of funds pitching product.
I would recommend both to anyone looking to network with serious investors.
Tomorrow have a IAFE and CAIA event at the same time. Should be interesting.
